Festival of Kite’s
The Kites
Festival has been held since 1979 which has religious meaning for Hindu, which
is offering to Rare Angon who has been believed to be the rice acreage
protector of Balinese farmers to be free from destructive pests of rice or bird
Festival of
kite is an event that held once a year on bali. This event has been held in the
wind season, around july or August.
Kite festival
is an activity that usually celebrated by Balinese people. This kite’s festival
is usually awaited by children, the elderly and young people. Beside for
entertain, this event also shows people’s creativity.
There are
various categories of the competition of kite. Not only categories,there are
also bunch of kite’s type which came from Bali or Aboard, like :
Bebean kite ( a kite with fish looks alike) , Janggan kite ( a kite with bird looks
alike) , Pecukan kite ( kite with
leaf looks alike) and also creation of kite which made for winning this
competition of kite. Kite sizes also very widely, from 4 meter until 50 meter.
There also a kite with tail which the tail has a length about 200 meter likes
Janggan kite.
This
competition of kite has followed by Balinese people and aboard.
The winner’s
criteria are one group consist of :
1. 10 people. Depanding on the size of
the kites
2. The Judges also look at how the kites
fly and the resilience of the kite up the sky
3. Judge from the kites are able to
follow the direction of wind blows
This festival
of kite or this competition is located
in Padang Galak Beach or Sanur Beach
